The mutton-fat jade porcelain belongs to the white porcelain of Dehua Kiln and is an excellent work among Chinese white porcelains.

Its name originates from the porcelain clay around Dehua Kiln. The clay is soft in texture, with a low iron content and a high potassium content. The glaze of the fired utensils is white, pure and warm. In the sunlight, it appears translucent like lard, faintly showing a pink or milky white luster, just like mutton-fat jade. It is commonly known as the "ivory white" and was once praised as the "pearl of the porcelain world" by the French.            《White Porcelain Bottle with the Inscription "Guan" from Xing Kiln》

Its history can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty. At that time, it was renowned far and wide as a tribute. It gradually matured during the Song Dynasty and reached its peak in the Qing Dynasty. In 2016, the firing technique of Dehua porcelain was included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage List (Traditional Handicraft Skills).              《The ewer used in conjunction with the tea - whisking process》
